Pawna Lake is an artificial reservoir made with the purpose to supply water to Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. Pawna dam is built on Pawna River which originates at south of Lonavala and passes through Pimpri Chinchwad Region. Decided to spend a weekend at Pawna (lake), was a breath of fresh air, By Car it takes around 2 hour to reach Pawna from Pune. We started journey at 8 AM, had breakfast and we left. Reached around 11 AM and our picnic was started. During monsoon, it is famous one day picnic spot. Many Food options are available, local villagers run small restaurants by the road. We had pakodas and ‘high’ tea.

Pawna Lake is best for camping and Trekking. The lake brims with water throughout the year. “Water creates so much beauty. The beautiful Pawna Lake is surrounded by Sahyadri Mountains. The calm water with a background of huge mountains and pleasant weather makes you feel the real nature.

After wandering here and there we were feeling hungry, there are many food stalls and restaurants, and we had a delicious lunch, the food was awesome, the service provided by hotel staff was also good. It is awesome place to feel the nature with good food, music and dance. It’s nice place to enjoy with family.

Some campaign groups were there, we saw more than 40-50 tents spread across the edge of an oval ground near lake. There were people around the tents enjoying the DJ songs arranged by the camp organizer.

Now we were eagerly waiting for sunset. Just feels like beach. One of the most beautiful sights presented by nature is sunsets. Each day is born with a sunrise and ends in a sunset, and “A sunset is the sun’s fiery kiss to the night.” We enjoyed the Sunset and ready to go back home. A one day picnic was finished with nice memories. Reached home.
