Summer Vacations was there and my Mom, Dad planned for the trip to Hyderabad. Birla Mandir in Hyderabad, dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara of Tirumala Tirupati. Temple is said that a whopping quantity of white marble, which is almost 2000 tonnes, was brought from Rajasthan for building this temple. Located on the top of a hill of 280 feet. Birla Mandir (Birla Temple) refers to different Hindu temples or Mandir built by the Birla family, in different cities. The architecture of the temple is a blend of South Indian, Rajasthan and Utkala temple architectures. The statue has been carved out of granite stone. The statue of Lord Venkateshwara is carved out in the Oriya Style. The temple opens at the rise of the dawn, as early as 5:30 AM. The temple is very beautiful and clean.
We started our journey by train. Train was at 12:30 PM, we reached by 6 PM. We went to hotel and we drop our luggage, had some snacks. As Hyderabad is the capital of southern India’s Telangana state. It feels the culture of South Indian. Hyderabad always craves for more street food. We went to one stall ordered Pesarattu Dosa. In Hyderabad Idli & Vada is the most famous food. Pesarattu Dosa or Moong Dal Dosa is similar to the normal Dosa with the difference being that the batter is made of moong dal. It is one of the favorite breakfast dishes in Andhra Pradesh. It is sided with ginger chutney, and this combination makes your taste buds go wild. After that we had Irani Chai, How I could end my snacks without a cup of tea. The ‘Soul of Hyderabad’, the ever famous Irani Tea. After that we move to Birla Mandir.
As the Birla Mandir is located on the hilltop, which at one point used to be one of the highest spots of the city, be ready for a bit of climbing. There is free locker facility available at the temple. Photography is not allowed inside the temple. So, no cameras or even phones are allowed inside the temple. A security personnel will check the visitors before entering the premises.
The view from the highest level of the temple offers the viewer a spectacular view of the Hussain Sagar Lake, Andhra Pradesh Secretariat, Assembly and Birla Planetarium, the Public Gardens and Lumbini Park. First, you will see a small shrine of Ganesha as you begin to climb the stairs. Moving on, another temple of Lord Ganesha and a shrine of Lord Shiva is seen. Next you can also seek the blessings from Lord Hanuman before heading towards the main shrine. The white marble architecture of the Birla Temple looks elegant. Birla Mandir is one of landmarks of the city. There are huge seating areas and viewing platforms at every level. It feels very peaceful and relax after visiting this white beauty. We had a very beautiful Evening and the best family time.
